  1. Remove the red seat lock from the back end of the seat. Using a flat head screwdriver, twist the red seat lock and lift up on the seat. Remove the seat from the toy and set aside.
  2. Pull down on the battery door. Remove the top battery door cover and disconnect the battery & remove the battery from the toy.
  3. Turn the toy on its side, with the gear shifter pointing down. Using a screwdriver, remove the front screw from the front underbody of the toy, inside of the large hole.
  4. Remove the rear screw of the front underbody of the toy located just in front of the metal bar.
  5. Remove the wire clip in the middle of the under body and remove the second wire clip from the rear end of the toy.
  6. Put the toy back in the upright position and remove the screw and washer from the shifter handle and remove the shifter handle from the toy. Save for Re-installation.
  7. Remove the gear shifter assembly from the inside the battery compartment by pulling the gear shifter up and out. Disconnect the gear shifter assembly from the wire harness. Discard the old gear shifter assembly.
  8. Pry the gray accelerator pedal plate assembly up with a flat head screwdriver. Remove the red, white and blue wires from the accelerator pedal plate assembly. Save for Re-installation.
  9. Turn the toy so the driver’s side is face down. Pull the accelerator switch wires through the opening to the accelerator pedal plate and pull the accelerator wires out of the toy from inside battery compartment.
  10. With the toy still turned on its side, remove the small black hubcap from the rear wheel with a flat head screwdriver and remove the locknut with a socket wrench and slide the wheel off the axle and set aside.
  11. Lift the motor gearbox up and remove the motor wires. Repeat this process with other rear wheels. (Note: if the red plus shaped inner hub comes off from the inner part of the wheel, put it back in the wheel).
  12. Turn the toy over in the upright position and pull the motor wires up through the rear end of the toy and then up through square hole in the seat area and under the battery door. Discard the wire harness.
  13. Re-installation of new HLR harness: Feed the 4 motor wires to the rear of the toy from the battery compartment, sliding the 4 motor wires under the battery compartment door and then continue feeding the 4 motor wires through the hole in the rear of the seat compartment.
  14. Turn the toy on its side and run the 4 motor wires underneath the bottom of the toy, and through the round hole directly below the square hole.
  15. Run the motor wires along the bottom of the toy until you come to a hole in the middle of the rear axle. The red and blue wires go on the left motor gearbox and white and black wires go to the right motor gearbox.
  16. Slide the motor gearbox on the axle and replace the motor wires on the motor. Note: When Re-installing the motor wires, make sure the red wire goes on the metal prong next to the red dot and on the opposite motor the black wire goes on the metal prong next to the red dot.
  17. Slide the motor gearbox all the way on the axle and replace the wheel and the locknut. Note: (do not tight the locknuts completely until the very end, after testing the toy to make sure all the speeds work correctly).
  18. Remove the gray fake engine cover on the right side of the toy. Slide the pedal wires through hole under the battery compartment. Feed wires through hole on the side of the toy down to the pedal compartment.
  19. Put the gray engine cover back on, inserting under the body portion first.
  20. Put the pedal wires back on (blue, white & red -red is on farthest prong-) and replace the pedal assembly.
  21. Connect the gear shifter to the wire harness; the gear shifter only goes on one way. Make sure blue wires connect into front hole and the wires in the black sheath are in the other hole.
  22. Snap in the gear shifter assembly, insert the tabs in the bottom holes first and tilting it up and snapping it onto the top tabs so it is secure.
  23. Re-install the shifter lever with screw and washer.
  24. Turn the toy on its side with the gear shifter side down. Re-install the screws previously removed in step 3 and step 4. Re-install the white harness wire clips previously removed in step 5.
  25. To get high speed on the toy, take a flat head screw driver screw red lock on the shifter until it’s flush with the toy.
  26. Re-install the seat and the seat lock then re-install the battery and test the toy to make sure you have both low and high speed and low reverse speed. Check to make sure that both rear wheels go forward in high speed forward and both wheels run backwards in reverse.
  27. If everything is running properly, fully tighten the locknuts on the wheels and attach the hubcaps.
  1. Insert the plugs in the handle bar.
  2. Insert and fit the handlebar with the screws provided.
  3. Place the bucket block on the shovel, arranging the pieces. Fasten the pieces together with screws and nuts, working with a wrench and a screw-driver from the side shown in the figure.
  4. Partially insert the second screw on the opposite side, to make it easier to carry out the next operation.
  5. Insert the spring into the hole in the bucket block. Turn the spring while pressing downward.
  6. Push the screw into the spring; place a washer and a nut on the screw.
  7. Tighten the screw, using a wrench and a screwdriver.
  8. Slip the bucket drawstring through the special hole on the shovel.
  9. Place a cap in the special tool.
  10. Fasten the bucket drawstring by pressing the cap all the way in.
  11. Using two wrenches fasten one of the two lock nuts on the bucket drawstring.
  12. Slip out the bucket drawstring with a washer taking care not to lose it.
  1. Unlock your seat and lift up.
  2. A: Lift compartment cover off. Slide box up to free from slit. B: Disconnect battery connection.
  3. Unplug the accelerator from the circuit board, noted as A in picture, and place inside the compartment.
  4. Pry the outer edge of the accelerator pedal base from the unit.
  5. Turn unit on side with the accelerator pedal up. The tab arrows point to the side of the plastic connection. Press in the tabs and pull gently up on the pedal base on the other side to dislodge.
  6. Follow the wires from the accelerator to a clamp. A is a closer image of the clamp holding the wires to the unit. Take your thumb and push back and forth on the nub of the clamp to release.
  7. Pull the accelerator wire out from underneath the unit.
  8. Go to the front of the unit. Disconnect the red, white and blue wires from the accelerator pedal. Remove the pedal plate from the unit pulling the long accelerator wire out.
  9. Push in the two lower tabs and push pedal switch through the plate. Remove pedal switch completely.
  10. On the old switch, remove the high/low lockout, by removing the screw and attach to new accelerator pedal.
  11. Place the new accelerator wire through the pedal plate. Slide the front tab into place as shown by the arrow. Snap lower tabs into the plate.
  12. Insert the end of the accelerator wire through the hole. Plug in the wires according to the side view.
  13. Insert the inner tabs of the pedal plate into the unit. Finish snapping the front tabs into place.
  14. Gather the two wire sheaths and place inside clamp and snap into slits in base. Then thread the accelerator wire through the hole that is right below the clamp.
  15. Set the unit back on all four tires. Go inside the circuit board compartment and reach in for the loose accelerator wire. Plug accelerator wire into the circuit board.
  16. Slide the circuit board box into the slit holder.
  17. Place compartment cover. Connect the battery to the toy.
  18. Close seat and lock.

WARNING: Disconnect the battery prior the beginning this procedure.

  1. Remove the seat from the unit by turning the unit over and remove the two head screws holding down the back end of the seat.
  2. Turn the unit right side up and locate and remove the screw found under the rear fender (directly above the rear wheel). Repeat for opposite side.
  3. Turn unit completely over and locate the six pressure tabs. These tabs run side to side along the middle of the underbody, toward the back of the toy by the screws you removed in step 1, and under each rear wheel. Using a pair of pliers or a flat head screwdriver, pinch and push the pressure tabs up through the body.
  4. Turn the unit over and remove the upper body by lifting up on the either the roll bar or rear fenders.
  5. Pull the wire connectors off the motor terminals. If you are replacing a single motor disconnect the appropriate terminal. Note which wire is on the red dot before remove the wire connector.
  6. Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the center hubcap from both rear wheels.
  7. Remove the lock nut. You will need to hold the lock nut on the other side to do this.
  8. At the opposite wheel, pull the wheel and axle out of the toy.
  9. Locate and remove the white circular spacer. This spacer is found below the motor/gearbox in between the gearbox and the middle of the toys body. Remove the 2 screws from the outside of the gearbox(s) being replaced.
  10. Remove the motor/gearbox. Repeat step 9 if you are replacing both motor/gearbox.
  11. If replacing just the motor or gearbox you will need to unscrew the motor from the gearbox and put the new piece on.
  12. Install the new motor/gearbox(s). Secure the motor/gearbox into place by installing the white circular spacer in between the gearbox and the middle body of the toy. Also reinstall the two screws removed from the step 9. Line up the holes in the center of the spacer with the hole in the gearbox body.
  13. Connect the wire connectors to the appropriate motor terminals. Right side: Black forward, white rear: Left side: blue forward, red rear. **Position of wires may be reversed pending model year of unit** (if you recall which wire was on red dot, replace that wire).
  14. Install the axle and the wheel by inserting the axle end into either motor, pushing the axle through the toy, through the opposite motor and out the opposite side. BE sure the cross shaped drive hub on the wheel fully sets on the cross shaped drive up on the motor.
  15. Install the wheel, the flat washer, if needed, and lock nut. You will need to hold the lock nut on the other side.
  16. Install the center hubcap by pressing in into the hub.
  17. Connect the battery and test the vehicle. If motor(s) fail to operate, check all electrical connections. If the wheels spin backwards, switch the wires on the wheel that is spinning backwards.
  18. Replace motor compartment cover and seat. Be sure all screws and pressure tabs are completely intact.
  1. Remove the single screw on the back of the driver’s seat base. Pull the seat belt out of your way.
  2. Lift the seat base up. Remove the two screws. Lift the seat up and pull forward the dislodge the back tabs of the seat.
  3. Gently pull the accelerator switch off the circuit board connector.
  4. Turn unit on its side. Pry the wire cover off.
  5. Pull the single sheath accelerator wire out. This is the wire you already disconnected from under the seat.
  6. Gently pry the retainer off to release the wire grouping.
  7. Pry up the accelerator pedal from the floor board.
  8. Remove the wires and pull the accelerator switch and attached sheathed wire out of toy.
  9. Pry up the bottom of the pedal to remove from the pedal base. Pull end up to remove the front tab. Remove.
  10. Thread the new accelerator wire through the pedal base and snap in the pedal by inserting the tab in the front first then snapping to the base.
  11. Thread the accelerator wire through the hole. Snap in the pedal base into the floor board by inserting the top tabs in first.
  12. Turn the toy on its side. Take the accelerator wire and follow the main wire harness passed the gear shift and thread through the hole.
  13. Attach wire harness cover. Gather the wires together and place between the two tabs on the cover. Insert the 2 rear tabs into the toy. Bring the cover toward the front making sure the wires are inside the compartment and snap cover onto toy.
  14. Place the wires within the plastic C clamp and insert the plastic peg. Push the retainer onto the peg with the provided push tool.
  15. Set the unit on its wheels. Look under the seat compartment for the loose accelerator wire that you pushed through the hole. Attach the accelerator connector to the circuit board.
  16. Place your seat assembly onto the unit by inserting the rear tabs in the slits and push towards the back of the unit. Insert the 2 screws.
  17. Lower the seat and insert screw.

The following procedure explains the recommended method of removing and replacing one or both drive motors in your Gator electric toy.

WARNING: Disconnect the battery prior to beginning this procedure.

  1. Raise the dump bed to gain access to the lift cylinder mounting pin. Remove the pin.
  2. Tilt the dump bed all the way back to the vertical position. Remove the right and left bed pivot pins. Remove the dump bed from the toy.
  3. Pull up on the motor compartment cover to unsnap it for removal. Remove the cover.
  4. Pull the wire connectors off the motors terminals. If you are replacing a single motor disconnect the appropriate terminals.
  5. Using a flat blade screwdriver remove the center hubcap from a rear wheel.
  6. Remove the axle nut and washers at the center of the wheel. Pull the wheel off the axle.
  7. At the opposite wheel, pull the wheel and axle out of the toy.
  8. Remove (3) screws that hold the motor in the toy.
  9. Remove the motor. Repeat step 8 and 9 if replacing both motors.
  10. You will need to unscrew the motor from the gearbox if replacing just the motor or just the gearbox.
  11. To do this, locate the half moon shape grey piece. There will be two screws. Remove the 2 screws and pull the gearbox and motor apart.
  12. Discard the item you are replacing and install the new piece. Be sure to screw the 2 screws back on to hold the motor to the gearbox.
  13. Install motor or motors as required. Position each motor using its locator pin, which matches the locator hole between the top two mounting screw holes. The threaded mounting holes in the motor must line up exactly with the mounting holes in the toy. Secure each motor with screws and washers removed in step 8. Be sure the motor is flat against the inside surface of the toy and the mounting screws are tight.
  14. Connect the wire connectors to the appropriate motor terminals. Right Side: black forward, white rear and Left side: blue forward, rear red.
  15. Install the axle and wheel by inserting the axle end into either motor, pushing the axle though the toy, through the opposite motor and out the opposite side. Be sure the hex shaped drive hub on the wheel fully seats on the hex shaped drive hub on the motor.
  16. Install the wheel from step 6 using the large flat washer, the small flat washer and the lock nut.
  17. Install center hubcap by pressing it into the hub.
  18. Connect the battery and test the vehicle. If motor(s) fail to operate, check all electrical connections. Retest.
  19. Replace motor compartment cover, dump bed, bed pivots and lift piston pin. Be sure all pins are fully seated.
