CHANGING THE AXLE INSERT

START HERE FOR THE FOLLOWINGMODELS:  GROUP A

  1. Remove screw underneath the body to open access panels.
  2. Skip to number 5 in the next set of instructions. The below instructions are for a different model, the steps are similar.

START HERE FOR THE FOLLOWING MODELS:  GROUP B

  1. Remove the roll bar by removing the screw under each fender.
  2. Remove the seat by removing the screws in the back of the seat base.
  3. Remove the fender/body by first pinching together the tabs with plyers in front of the rear wheels to disconnect the front corners of the fender/body.
  4. Grab the fender/body only on one side shown by the arrows and pull firmly up to disengage the tabs. 4a: If unable to disengage the front center tabs of the fender/body, then turn the toy over the pinch the tabs together with players and push tabs through. Turn toy over and pull the front center tabs area, shown in 4 by the arrows.
  5. Remove both rear wheel small hubcaps with a flat head screw driver.
  6. Remove the retainer by prying between the washer and retainer until you break the retainer off. Remove washer and wheel. NOTE: GROUP A MODELS: Remove retainer and wheel.
  7. Push wheel brushing to the end of the axle out of your way. Can remove if easier to work with axle. For clearer pictures, the wheel bushing will be removed. 7a.: GROUP A MODELS: Remove wheel bushing (square shape bushing).
  8. Pry the tabs toward the outer edge and push them down to disengage the tabs.
  9. Place flat head screw driver along the slit as shown by arrows and pry the screw driver inwards in direction of the arrows to pop the tab. One both sides are released, inside half will fall inside the toy. Remove top half of axle insert.
  10. Hold axle insert for the outside position. Place tab inside the toy and push down towards axle. If insert tab towards bottom of toy, the axle will naturally stay in the center of insert by gravity. Pull axel up.
  11. Hold axle insert. Reach inside toy with axle insert and place tab through opening to catch tab on plastic edge, then push up axle insert to flatten.
  12. Push up on the inside axle insert and push down on the outside axle insert to snap them together. First snap the two tabs as shown with small arrows, then snap the larger tabs.
  13. Push down the wheel bushing flat against the axle insert. May need to turn the wheel bushing to match the beveled part of the axle. Make sure the X part is up.
  14. Insert wheel onto axle. Turn wheel until X of the wheel housing is inserted into the X of the wheel. NOTE: GRUP A MODELS: Turn wheel until the square bushing is inserted into wheel.
  15. The bottom attached wheel needs something to stabilize the axle when you are pushing the hardware on the top wheel. Find something that will fit flat within the large hubcap of the wheel, such as small piece of wood or socket.
  16. Going back to the top wheel, place washer on axle. Balance retainer, with rough side up, on the axle. With small end of tool, push or lightly hammer the retainer onto the axle. When the retainer is on the axle go to the next step. NOTE: GROUP A MODELS: No washer, insert retainer.
  17. With the large end up on the tool, lightly hammer the retainer further down the axle.
  18. Snap small hupcab onto the rear wheels.

GROUP A MODELS: Insert access panel  screw underneath toy. Compete.

GROUP B MODELS: Continue with instructions on installing your toy.

  1. Installing the fender/body. Hold the fender/body at approximate 60 degree angle matching up the tabs to the holes in the unit. Insert tabs and lay fender/body flat.
  2. Push between the two slits in center front to snap the center tabs into the unit.
  3. Snap in the outer fender tabs into the unit by pressing the fender down and holding the unit corner up underneath.
  4. Insert the front tabs of the seat into the unit and insert the rear screws.
  5. Insert roll bar into unit and insert screws on each side. Completed.
