The following procedure explains the recommended method of removing and replacing the accelerator pedal assembly including the accelerator switch on your electric toy.
Note: If you have a unit made from 2012-2015 that had 2 switches you will not need the jumper wire that connected the two switches.
WARNING: Disconnect the battery prior the beginning this procedure.
- Remove the accelerator pedal assembly. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pop the rear edge of the pedal plate up, freeing the rear edge mounting tabs from the toy.
- Pull the forward edge of the pedal plate out from under the wire harness guard. Pull the pedal assembly away from the toy.
- Disconnect (3) wires from the underside of the accelerator switch(s). Discard the accelerator pedal assembly.
- Connect wires to (3) terminals. Be sure connectors are fully seated.
- Insert the forward edge of the pedal plate under the wire harness guard. Push down on the rear edge to snap the pedal plate tabs back into the toy floorboard.
- Connect the battery. Test the vehicle. If vehicle does not operate, check all electrical connections and retest.
